Back Rest
To have a comfortable place in the cockpit a backrest is needed. In the Cirrus none was available - therefore: self-construction.
The backrest has two kinks to follow the contour of the seat. The backrest is bolt down using two hinges. In case of a crash - when the pilot after the movement in direction of flight slights back - a failure of the backrest (especially the head-rest) must be excluded in any case to beware the pilot from a cervical-dislocation. Therefore: Some more layers of glass fibre and two foam-stringers, which increase the bending stiffness, are added. Because of this a flight without a backrest is not really a good idea.
